Blackjack
Blackjack is one of the most popular casino table games. The object is to have your cards total 21 or as near to 21 as possible without going over. Everyone plays against the dealer who begins the game by dealing every player two cards face up and himself one card face up.
Rules:
All bets are placed before any cards are dealt. Once placed, these bets may not be changed except when “splitting” or “doubling down” (explained later). Cards count as their face value. Kings, Queens and Jacks all count as 10. Acres count as one or 11. If the first two cards dealt to you total 21 (a 10 and an Ace) you have Blackjack and will be paid one and a half times your bet. You cannot lose with a Blackjack but you could tie (“push”) if the dealer also gets Blackjack.
If you are dealt any other combination of cards other than a Blackjack you have the option to “stand” (take no more cards) or “hit” (receive additional cards). Remember, the object of the game is to get a close to 21 without going over. You want your hand to be closer to 21 than the dealer’s. If it is not, the house wins. If you tie with the dealer you “push” (nobody wins, nobody loses).
If you go over 21 you “bust” and immediately lose. Once all players have played their hands, the dealer will proceed to draw cards until a total of a hard 17 or better is reached. If the dealer draws a hand between a hard 17 and 21 he/she will proceed to pay the players with a higher hand total than his/hers and collect losing bets from those who have not beaten his/her hand. If the dealer goes “bust” he/she will pay all players left in the game who have not gone “bust” before him/her. All winning bets are paid off at one to one except Blackjack, which is paid at three to two.
Surrender:
If the player has received their first two cards and the dealer does not have an Ace showing, they are given the option to surrender. If the player chooses to surrender, he/she must announce their choice to the dealer. The dealer will then proceed to take one half of the player’s bet and their cards.
If the dealer has an Ace showing, surrender will not be an option.
Splitting Pairs:
If the first two cards dealt to a player are of equal value they can be split into separate hands. Players must match their original bet and may take as many hits as they like on each cards. Players may double down after receiving the second card on the split; player must match the original bet and will receive one card only. A player may split cards up to a maximum of three times to create four separate hands. If you split Aces however, only one card will be dealt to each Ace, and aces may be split only once.
Double down:
A player may double down on their first two cards. The original bet must be matched and only one card will be received from the dealer.
In the cases of splits or double downs, the player will lose only their original bet if the dealer draws Blackjack on that hand.
Insurance:
Whenever the dealer shows an Ace as their up card, they will offer “insurance” to the table. Insurance may be purchased for exactly half of the player’s original bet. Insurance pays 2-1 when the dealer makes a Blackjack.
Insurance is lost if the dealer does not make Blackjack.
Hole card Blackjack is an option offered on some tables. In this game, the dealer will take two cards. One is face up; the other is face down. If the dealer is showing an Ace they will offer insurance before checking to see if they have Blackjack. If the dealer does not have Blackjack surrender is now an option. All other Blackjack rules apply.
Betting Limits:
Palace Casino offers Blackjack games with a variety of table limits. Players are welcome to play one or more squares. Table limits and multiple hand limits are clearly posted on each table. Please ask any one of our friendly staff if you have any questions.

Craps
Craps is one of the most exciting casino games. Wager on the outcome of two dice, each player may choose to bet with or against the person shooting the dice.
Rules:
The Pass Line bets win if the shooter’s first roll totals either 7 or 11; it loses on a total of 2, 3 or 12. The Don’t Pass Line is the opposite, losing on a 7 or 11, winning on 2 or 3 (12 is a push). Any other number becomes that shooters point. Once a point has been established the Pass Line will win if the point is rolled again, prior to a 7. The Don’t Pass Line, in order to win, now requires a 7 to be rolled before the point.
Come and Don’t Come bets follow the same rules as the Pass and Don’t Pass Lines, but may only be bet after a point has been established.
Place Bets are wagers on individual numbers (4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10), they win each time that number is rolled, they lose on a 7.
Centre Bets win when the combination wagered on comes up on a subsequent roll, they lose on any other number.
Hardway Bets are wagers on the even numbers (4, 6, 8, 10), they win when that number is rolled with a pair.
Betting Limits:
The minimum bet for the Pass Line, Don’t Pass Line, Field, Big 6, or Big 8 is $5, the maximum is $100. Place Bets on the 4, 5, 9, and 10 must be in multiples of $5, with a minimum bet of $5 and a maximum of $100. Place Bets on the 6 and 8 must be in multiples of $6, with a minimum of $6 and a maximum of $120. Centre Bets have a minimum of $1 and a maximum that varies from $10 on the 2 and 12, to $60 on Any 7. The payout will not exceed $300 per bet. Our dealers will be more than happy to answer any further questions about maximums or any other area of the game.
Odds:
Once a point is established, players may take or lay odds on their initial Line and Come Bets. We offer double odds, meaning that generally you are permitted to take odds equal to two times your original bet.

Mini Baccarat
The game of Baccarat (pronounced BA CA RAH) and the smaller various Mini Baccarat are widely regarded as the grandest of all casino games. The game is simple in design, requiring the players to wager on the outcome of each hand in favor of the “Player”, “Bank” or “Tie”.
Rules:
Before any cards are dealt the player decides whether to wager on Player, Bank or Tie. Be careful not to confuse the meaning of these names. In Mini Baccarat, Player does not refer to the players around the table and Bank does not refer to the house. These refer to the names of the two hands and could just as easily be referred to as “hand #1” and “hand #2”. Once all bets are down, the dealer will draw two cards for Player and two for Bank. The cards are turned over and the totals announced to the table. A maximum of three cards may be taken either for Player or Bank in order to achieve a card total as close to nine as possible. All cards count as their face value. Kings, Queens, and Jacks are counted as 10, Aces count as one. If the two cards drawn total more than 10, the last number represents the value of the hand. For example, 6 + 7 = 13, the hand counts as three.
Once the dealer has drawn all possible cards for Player and Bank, the winner will be determined and announced. If Bank’s hand total is closer to nine, all players who wagered on Bank would be paid at even money. All those who wagered on Player and Tie would have their bets collected.
All Player and Bank wagers are paid even money. Tie bets are paid 8 to 1. All Bank bets must be accompanied by an additional wager representing 5% of the original bet. This “commission” bet is collected only when Bank wins.
Once two cards have been drawn for both Player and Bank the dealer will play out each hand according to a pre-determined set of rules as follows:
| Player first two cards total: |
Player will: |
| 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 |
Draw a third card |
| 6, 7* |
Stand |
| 8, 9 |
A Natural … |
| |
Bank cannot draw. |
| *If the player shows 6 or 7 and stands, the bank will draw a third card if the banks first two cards total 5 or less. |
| Bank first two cards total: |
Bank will: |
| 0, 1, 2 |
Draw a third card |
| 7 |
Stand |
| 8, 9 |
A Natural |
| |
...Player cannot draw. |
| Bank’s first two cards total: |
Bank will draw a third card if the Player’s third card is: |
| 3 |
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10 |
| 4 |
2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 |
| 5 |
4, 5, 6, 7 |
| 6 |
6, 7 |
In the event the two hands end in a tie after all cards are drawn, all bets on the Tie Bar will be paid 8 to 1. Bets on Player and Bank will remain in this case and do not lose.
